About BIGH
The Burkina Institute of Global Health (BIGH) is a non-governmental, non-profit research organization based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. BIGH is composed of a diverse team of scientists with extensive expertise in areas such as the assessment of vaccine-preventable disease burden, Implementation of health and population surveillance systems and research on the implementation of health interventions. The BIGH team also has proven expertise in clinical trials according to Good Clinical Practice and in-the-field efficacy studies for a range of diseases, including poverty-related diseases, neglected tropical diseases, Emerging and re-emerging diseases and non-communicable diseases. BIGH attaches great importance to the effective engagement of stakeholders throughout the implementation of its projects. The objective of BIGH is to produce high quality data that meets local requirements, study protocols and related procedures, as well as international standards, while delivering results in a timely manner to have an impact on global health.

Our Research Platforms
BIGH is establishing solid research platforms that can play a key role in advancing medical knowledge, developing new tools, Developing public health strategies and improving health care delivery and outcomes. These platforms are:
- Clinical Trials Platform: BIGH has the expertise to create platforms that are adapted to the different stages of clinical drug and vaccine development, including Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV trials.
- Epidemiological and Surveillance Platform: BIGH has access to health facilities in rural and urban areas, as well as the Health and Population Monitoring system for disease surveillance and health indicators...
- Laboratory and Diagnostic Platform: Including the clinical biology laboratory and the molecular biology laboratory.
- Data Science Platform: BIGH data scientists have the capacity to set up a comprehensive system that supports all stages of data-driven projects, from data entry and storage to analysis.
- Capacity Building Platform: BIGH is developing initiatives that provide opportunities for education, mentoring and capacity building for young researchers, health professionals and other key stakeholders.
